What's a Coach Approach to Parenting?
Using a coach approach to parenting means that you're creating space for your kids to show up authentically, in a way that they feel heard and seen.
I love teaching Parent as Coach
Anyone who teaches needs three things:
Expertise in the content area, expertise in teaching and a deep love of the information they are teaching.
I have my Masters in Organization Coaching, I teach and mentor coaching at Canada Coach Academy and I am an ICF certified mentor for coaches. I LOVE COACHING because I see the transformational power of it every day, with every client and in my own family and community system.
I teach coaching - I teach it with passion and with love because I believe that when individuals become more of themselves, everyone in their system benefits.
Most importantly, I am a mom. I know so deeply the love, the struggle, the sacrifice, the joys, the tears and the triumphs of parenting.

I am beyond grateful for the incredible impact that Kelly Wood's Parent as Coach course had on my relationship with my teenage daughter. As a parent navigating the challenges of adolescents, I found myself searching for a deeper connection and more effective communication with my daughter. Kelly's course not only met but exceeded my expectations, bringing a profound shift in the way I approach parenting.
Kelly guided us to approach our interactions with our children from a place of curiosity rather than immediately resorting to advice-giving. This subtle yet powerful shift in my parenting has begun to transform the dynamics in our household. I have learned to be more present in the moments with my daughter, truly listening to her thoughts and feelings without jumping into problem-solving mode.
Through the thoughtful readings, exercises and discussions facilitated by Kelly, I gained valuable insights into my daughters world, her struggles and her aspirations. This understanding has not only strengthened our bond, but has allowed me to support her in more meaningful and effective ways.
Kelly's skillful facilitation created a safe and supportive space for exploration and sharing amongst us mothers in this course. Even though our children were at various ages, I felt a connection and felt incredibly validated in my parenting and as a mom. We are not alone in our challenges, and Kelly provided a space where we could come together and share. The collective wisdom of our group provided additional perspectives and strategies that enriched my parenting journey.
I wholeheartedly recommend this course to any parent seeking a more mindful, connected and fulfilling relationship with their child. Kelly's guidance and this beautiful course that she has created is a beacon of light in the often challenging journey of parenting. I am incredibly grateful for the positive changes it has brought to my relationship with my daughter and with myself.
